The city of Sandy needed a new stage for their park for summer concerts and movies. We used a warm and natural material palette to integrate the stage with the beauty of the site. Exposed heavy timbers combine with a tension rod system to provide the structure. Wood framed shear walls are set on concrete bases to provide a visual anchor and lateral stability. The Stage was placed on the site in such a way that it preserved all existing trees. (Completed while working for Mhyre Group Architects, Architect of Record; Ray Yancey)
