This new headquarters for Grand-Central Bakery reuses a beautiful old sawtooth warehouse in NW Portland. The design uses reclaimed heavy timbers, corten steel, and fir to insert boxes into the existing building, creating entry points, a courtyard and a public cafe where the baking process can be observed by the patrons while enjoying their goods. New offices serve as their national headquarters and a full working bakery functions smoothly in the day lit space.
